Co-founding Saggau-DeRollo in 2004, Dustin provides media relations and government affairs advice to both public agency and private sector clients. He works to create compelling messages utilizing multiple digital platforms and content that aligns with achieving our clients’ established goals. Dustin’s experience as a former elected official provides valuable insight into analyzing, packaging and delivering facts and data to our target audiences.
Dustin is adept at quickly assessing the communication needs of clients and building a comprehensive, modern message delivery infrastructure. He has experience establishing and growing an entity’s social media platforms, creating digestible content that targeted audiences will understand, and streamlining internal processes to disseminate information more swiftly.
Dustin’s public policy background allows him to quickly analyze public agency budgets and policy proposals, create win-win solutions, and best prepare our clients to engage meaningfully in the formulation of good public policy.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, Dustin was brought in by Brookfield Residential, one of the nation’s largest real estate development firms, to develop a public communications strategy to assist the developer in dealing with a complex environmental challenge. In that engagement, Dustin provided media training for Brookfield executives, key staff, and their technical consultants to ensure that environmental science issues were translatable and understood by local residents.
Adept at managing all aspects of campaigns. He has led numerous campaigns to assist local cities and school districts in passing revenue measures. Dustin assists our clients with public opinion surveys to provide our public based clients the best opportunity for success at the ballot box.
A political science graduate from San Jose State University, Dustin previously served as President of the Board of Education of the Franklin-McKinley School District. A father of a large, blended family (eight kids total), Dustin lives in Santa Cruz, California, with his wife, Alicia.
